Handwoven on a Zapotec style loom of the 16th century adapted from European styles. Woven using a 7 threads per inch reed. Patterns and symbols: Don Jacinto and I played around with some ideas around the rainy season wich brings us joy, hence the smile symbol along with lightning and thunder pattern that announces the rains

In the middle of this diamond we see the moth of knowledge and wisdom that comes at night and represetns the knowledge that is obtained through darkness

The agave plant shoots up a stalk called quiote that grows really fast towards the sky in order to produce the flowers and seeds for its life cycle

that we are fed by its nipples like the Ceiba trees its thorns

This duality represents the original two aspects of creation
