H Phillips is a scarce and sought after silver maker and is usually associated with commemorative pieces; small trays such as these are unusual. The trays are substantial for their size, weighing 165 grams collectively. The silver has some tarnishing and surface scratches in places commensurate with age, however both trays remain in a very good condition

blue and tan leather with a foliate design throughout and a central gilt anchor

The slides still open and close with ease and the arched hinges fold down up and down as they should

each depicting a different scene

The coffer is of early pegged construction and boasts carving to the front panels and borders

A truly lovely piece of antique furniture that remains very functional in today's world
